Girls Twiddling Knobs

Founded by Isobel Anderson, for five years, Girls Twiddling Knobs redefined what music technology education could be and who it could serve across a podcast, courses and community-building.

GTK formally closed in 2025. This site exists as a record of that work and a signpost to what remains available.

About

GTK was founded in response to the persistent gender imbalance in music technology and production. It combined practical skills training with cultural change, creating accessible routes into recording, production and creative confidence for thousands of learners worldwide.

The Girls Twiddling Knobs Podcast documents conversations with gender-diverse artists working across music technology, sound art, and music production. It remains available on all major podcast platforms until the end of 2026 as a free listening resource and cultural archive.
