Before I joined Home Recording Academy, I was not confident at all using music technology. I became hesitant about recording as I felt I would need to ask for (male) help and end up owing favours or not having my music exactly how I wanted it to be.

I signed up to Home Recording Academy because I was getting a lot of validation for my own songwriting and wanted to start recording my songs. The weekly workbooks and videos were clear and logical to follow and, although I have a long way still to go, I feel much more confident about using my DAW.

I used what I had learned to record backing tracks of my own music and played my first live set for my 50th birthday! My friends were amazed and impressed. I really do feel there is nothing stopping me getting my music out there, how I want it to be heard. I’m positive about being able to produce my own music with enough time and patience so I plan to keep working on my songs then record and mix a three track EP in the new year.
