Real stories from one of a kind musicians who started with courage and ended with self-produced, professional recordings of their music.

This is Annie's home recording academy success story

ANNIE BALL

“Because of the skills I gained inside Home Recording Academy, I’ve released an album and made back all the production costs when I put it out. The programme has been truly life changing.”

Before Home Recording Academy, I was mainly involved in performing and managing live events. I didn't see myself as a recording artist at all, I believed that to record and release my music it had to be absolutely perfect so I didn’t even try. Being a mum, I can’t really tour and I questioned how sustainable it would be for me to perform and truly progress as a musician.

After taking the 5 Day Challenge, Isoble’s teaching was so engaging that I just had to enrol in Home Recording Academy. Even though I had gone through 6 years in Music college, which included music tech modules, HRA has made me feel so much more equipped, confident and empowered. I now feel like a whole section of music making is open to me. I’ve been developing my career as a performer for the last 8 years, but it's only since going through the course that I've been getting noticed by other musicians, getting booked for gigs and getting commissions.

Since Home Recording Academy, I’ve released an album. I put it up for sale on Bandcamp and I made back all the costs of the CD production. People have been asking me “Wow, how did you do that?” They can’t believe I recorded it! Now, I prefer to record my music home rather than going to the studio, I feel such a sense of freedom. Home Recording Academy has been truly life changing, it’s made me feel like it’s possible and I can do it!
